"Poetry and Progress Are Like..."
"....two ambitious men who hate one another with an instinctive hatred, and when they meet upon the same road, one of them has to give place." Charles Baudelaire

More color added and some detail:
Almost finished, waiting to dry for the final glazes:

I love these! And so much fun to see how they developed.
Thanks Palmer! It's fun for me to see too - when I can remember to stop and take a photo.
So beautiful. Like seeing the progression, development, too.
i don't remember seeing such a progression before on your blog...super interesting. Your sky is just breath taking!!! Love them!!
So interesting to see the progress and the final paintings are beautiful! I'd love to see more of the sketches they're based on.
Thanks Jean!
Sometimes the progression is really interesting when it's not in such a 'straight line.' When it takes it twists and turns along the way.
Thank you Kathryn! A bunch of progression views were accidentally deleted when I joined Google +. I've been trying to restore them as I get a chance.
Thanks x! The sketches can be seem by clicking on the link in the post that mentions them.
I love seeing how the paintings evolved, they are beautiful.
Beth, thanks - and great to hear from you. How are you?
