Progress
The painting I've been plodding along on for awhile is creeping towards completion. Now it only needs a few glazes, although sometimes that can go on and on. I'm taking comfort in a Leonardo da Vinci quote, "Art is never finished, only abandoned." I wonder which of his paintings he was referring to.....

This all kind of ties in with completion doesn't it?
Someimes paintings tell me exactly when they are done, sometimes they are just silent, and I have to live with them in silence, as the taunt me. That can take weeks and in some cases, months (years?).
Then you just get comfortable with it, and that is what makes it complete. At least from my own experience.

It seems to me that my paintings scream at me loudly up until the point that I'm standing in front of the easel with brush in hand, when they suddenly fall silent again.
I'm going to turn the easel around the other way and sneak up behind them....
